Why should you consider putting your house on the market in December?

Firstly, there will be a lot less competition, because some owners will be taking their unsold properties off the market over the Christmas period and several are rushing through completion as their purchasers wish to be in their house before Christmas.

Also, Rightmove report that the largest number of people in the year, (said to be 51 million views) will be viewing properties on Boxing Day.  However, if your property is not listed and available, it won’t be seen.

People who are looking to move in the New Year will be browsing what is available in December and your property will have much less competition.  In January when all the properties that had been removed from the market return, plus those that are waiting until January to be marketed, that competition will be increased.
