HOW DO I CHOOSE A GOOD ESTATE AGENT? and WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR?

1) Trust: An Agent you can trust is all important.

2) Experience: This is something that cannot be bought or transferred. It is acquired over many years and includes observations of changing circumstances, an understanding of human behaviour, the workings of the property market specifically and of the general economy as a whole, together with and knowledge of the structure of buildings and their potential faults.

3) Look at the level of ratings and comments on a trustworthy testimonial site, such as ‘Feefo’.

4) Go onto a Portal (in our case OnTheMarket or Rightmove), select the area of your own property and under ‘Filters’ include properties that are ‘Sold Subject to Contract’ or ‘STC’. The most effective Agent in your area will have more STC and possibly less ‘For Sale’, because they are in effect, selling them more quickly.
